My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly 3 years. 1 1/2 years ago, he told me he would propose in June or July of 2020. So you could imagine my excitement as we got closer to the date. My bf has been open with me, telling him how COVID has affected his proposal plans multiple times. He also admitted to me last week that he would be proposing this week – I got SUPER excited! It’s finally happening! Well, we live in Los Angeles county and they keep shutting businesses down. We are nearly back to our stay at home order. He admitted to me on Sunday that he booked a venue for the proposal, and that last Friday, they sent out an email saying due to COVID, they weren’t sure what the future held – if they’d have to close or if they could remain open a bit longer. He responded wondering what that meant for his proposal. Long story short, the week is almost over and he’s called, emailed and reached out to their instagram page over 11 times!! No answer. We are both starting to worry the plan is going to fall through completely. If it does, he doesn’t want to compromise on the proposal at all. He said in order to do it the way he’s planned, it wouldn’t be until October or November. I can’t wait that long. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever and counting down to this day. He says he knows I’d be happy no matter what way he proposes, but he wants it to be this huge grand gesture that will make me “so happy”. I just want the commitment more than anything else, and to me, it’s silly to put that off just to have a more grand proposal. I can’t seem to get him to compromise though. Any thoughts on this stupid, weird situation are greatly appreciated!
